From December 2 to 17, 2012 the specialist in restoration of the department of conservation of the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bydyshev B.Zh. had the probation in the department of restoration of the library fonds of the Russian state library in Moscow city (the Russian Federation) by the theme: “The restoration of rare books and manuscripts”. The probation was organized by the joint-stock company “The foundation of spiritual development of the people of Kazakhstan” (Astana city).

      Bydyshev B. received the theoretical and practical knowledge in the restoration and binding of rare books and manuscripts. There was carried the work with the leather bindings of the Slavic manuscripts; the sewing “in a chain”, using the external cords – upon the machine tool; the manufacturing of the glue with the flesh side of hide and other glues; the braiding of the captals; the manufacturing of marble paper; the repair of the wooden lids; the dying, the roughing and processing of the leather; the manufacturing of metallic locks and their repair, the manufacturing of new artistic bindings.
      Also Bydyshev B. became acquainted with the work of the machine for the neutralization of acidity, of the machine for additional pouring in of paper pulp into the lost places of the sheet etc. the immediate head of the probation was the restorer-binder of highest category Lukashina Varvara, the worker of the department of restoration of the department for the provision of the fonds preservation and polygraphy of the Russian state library.
